Effective July 1, 2025, the standard VAT rate in Estonia will increase from 22% to 24%. We are delighted to announce that despite this change, the prices for Virtuaal.com virtual server service packages will remain exactly the same for you!

This means we will absorb the cost increase resulting from the VAT hike, to continue providing high-quality service at the best possible price. Prices for other services and domains will be adjusted according to the new VAT rate.

To ensure optimal compatibility, security, and speed, we will implement the following significant changes to our server software effective August 9, 2025:

► The default PHP version will be PHP 8.3 (up from 8.1). The latest PHP versions provide enhanced performance and security for web applications.

► The default MariaDB (MySQL) version will be MariaDB 11.4 (up from 10.6). This provides support for a modern database engine, optimized query processing, and enhanced security. The upgrade to the newer version is generally seamless.

We recommend reviewing the compatibility of your web applications with these new versions well in advance.
